The TV streaming website with the chequered past, Filmon, have started to charge €15 a month to subscribe as from 1st May 2017.
We found this is on their Wikipedia page…
“On 1st May 2017, all Filmon channels were set to "Paid" - both SD and HD quality - which restricts viewing time to 2 minutes. Previously, SD quality channels were mostly free.”
Historically Filmon have fallen foul of the law for allegedly breaching the copyright of content providers, and have fought many court cases in the US as a result.
The UK TV content provided by Filmon is very limited, which when offered free was fairly popular amongst the Expat community. However now the €15 a month charge is in place we have seen an exodus of subscribers signing up to our 100% legal VPN service.
This week has seen seen an influx of new subscribers from Spain and the UAE to My Expat Network, and if you are a former Filmon user we would really like to know where abouts you are living, and how you think our service compares.
We would like to welcome all of our new subscribers and hope they enjoy the greater choice of online content offered by My Expat Network , all from as little as £3.50 a month.
