The opening weekend of the competition continues at Murrayfield, where the hosts start as strong favourites against the Azzurri.
Scotland won both of their home matches in the 2018 tournament on their way to finishing third in the standings behind Ireland and Wales, while Italy finished bottom of the pile for the third successive year.
With some promising performances in the autumn internationals, and their players facing stiff competition for places in this year's World Cup squad, the Scots' improving strength in depth should be enough to see off any resistance from the visitors.
