BBC iPlayer was one of the first TV Catch Up services to launch. It allows the user to stream BBC programmes straight to their computer for free after it has been shown on television, by logging into www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer. This has been incredibly popular, with ITV and Channel 4 also offering similar services.
It’s developed further from desktop, with more and more people using mobile devices. Now you can stream your favourite shows live from your portable device using the BBC iPlayer app. This can be found in the app store, and allows you to search all the shows that BBC have to offers on their Catch Up service, and stream it straight to your device.
Not only this, but by popular demand from audiences, you can download TV shows straight to your device meaning, even if you’re in an area with no signal, you can still catch up on programmes such as Eastenders or The Great British Bake Off.
This isn’t available on Android yet, but BBC are constantly developing their outreach, and we’re positive the app will be available soon. If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod, simply get the app at http://bit.ly/BBCiPlayerApp and follow these instructions:
1. Open the BBC iPlayer app
2. Click ‘TV’ in the bottom left hand corner
3. Search for your favourite TV shows
4. Click ‘Download’
5. Click ‘Downloads’ and watch your favourite show on the go.
This is a great feature from BBC, and means you’re never without your favourite show.
