BBC aired four Premier League games for the first time in history last season, drawing in record numbers of viewers. They were not initially handed any games as part of the TV details announcement – a blow for fans hoping to catch the action on free-to-air channels – but that has changed just days before the season.
Clubs have reversed their decision to block non-TV games from being broadcast, first trying to charge for them, but that has now been abandoned. Sky Sports and BT Sport have been given extra fixtures, while BBC and Amazon Prime will have a handful of games.
Note: To watch the free to air games games on the BBC go to iPlayer. For Pick TV and Sky One,are on NOWTV (a part of Sky) as part of the entertainment package (£8.99/month with a 7 day free trial) .
